On the very next day of Udaan when I wake up I decide that I will not summarise Udaan experience because it is routine for me, but every time I wake up the very next day, I realise that I have to write something …
Well there are so many reasons for it but lets begin with the batch… GFMB 12 had one of the most positive vibes ever … not a single dull moment… there are highs and lows but thats true in any family event… however this UDAAN was simply magic… it was mesmerising and it was so immersive that none could actually keep their eyes off…
Let me articulate in a more patient manner (that’s opposed to my nature :)) The OC, they are seven different people as different as the shades of a rainbow and as synchronised as the rainbow, some colours merge within the other colour and some are apart but they created some of the most attractive and challenging events. The OC who set up the Treasure Hunt had to face a task the next day, he was coming to the auditorium, and dashed his car into the divider and then with the help of two beggars tied a rope on the bumper and then reached (he came and told me that, “kal yeh logo se task karvaye, aaj mera task ho gaya :)) but still made it before 10:00 am… a student calls his uncle in Delhi who is a DSP just to make sure that he gets a cap of the police to wear so that his team earns bonus points… a student gets caught by the police and his other team member knows Marathi, and uses to his advantage and gets away with it… there is one student who goes to a stranger and explains him the perils of smoking for 60 seconds and then makes sure the stranger throws away the cigarette…
Each incident and like that many incidents teach them couple of lessons… some of them are… they would tend to believe that “nothing is impossible, if they want to do it, they can” , “there is nothing like fear, its all within”, “a stranger is stranger, not unless you start talking to them” , “there is nothing wrong in asking for, in business you have to ask”, “know your network and use it when acute” and many more…
Udaan is one event in which each and every student brings out his best and it just reinforces my belief in todays youth. I always keep telling that our students collectively are more powerful than any other bomb, its just that we have to channelise their energy in the right direction and that trust me they can create something better than us and that has to be obvious also, if they create as good as us then its not worth, but they make things better than us… and my dear mentor, please talk to your mentee on their Udaan experience, it would be simply great for you to listen through… I am also grateful to Mr. & Mrs Karkera (parents of Neeraj for coming to the campus for a brief moment [that was also part of the fest]) and Mrs. Majethia (mother of Harsh).
