The difference between sanity and aggression is called Udaan,
The difference between reality and imagination is called Udaan,
The difference between ambiguity and achievement is called Udaan…
After every Udaan, I decide it was the same, what is there to write about !!! But then my mind transverses into a trance of energy, the shouts, the stories and the emotions…
Yes Udaan is an emotional event, which exhibits highest level of energy of the 12 month program and primarily it is because – these youngsters are challenged to do “something” that they would not normally do… they had to talk to a stranger in Russian language or barge into a theatre or talk loudly on the phone on a beach in such a manner that they make others laugh or eat from a stranger’s plate or get a photo with a businessman whose net worth is more than Rs. 2000 crore or get yourself handcuffed etc…
But what’s the purpose of all this… to be bold, to dare, to be shameless, to talk to anyone fearlessly of being judged… etc… and perhaps more…
This time one of the key events was – Promote Your Business, in that two people from each team had to promote their business and if they were able to handle the objections and if they had a great presentation then they would get good points. It is not necessary that the one who owned the business, only had to present, anyone else could also present… it was a game changer of sorts…
The key to Udaan is, its one of the most practical ways of learning and working with others who have the same temperament and the same background… Udaan teaches to tolerate, to be considerate, but at the same time never loose hope… we have seen some of the biggest upsets in the final result of Udaan… two of the most solicited activities of this time’s udaan were Network Multiplier and Chai Piyo… in network multiplier the student had to meet an alumni and so this time they went to the extent of meeting GMBA and MGB alumni also… the other activity was Chai Piyo in which they had to go and meet a competitor, visit their place of work and then take a photo… it was a difficult task, but many students could do it and they had stories to tell…
One of the student send me this…
Sir Thank you to UDAAN
My stage confidence just on another level.
The Treasure Hunt , Network Multiplier really helped me achieve this.

Sir i dont know how but my confidence level has increased after udaan competition and now i feel that i can stand and present any thing infront of 100 people.
I had some stage fear in me.
Today i feel if i am prepared i dont care about anything and i can deliver.
Also i understood i more thing that the team leader which managed the team best won. Secondly the leader has to be self involved Vidit and vedaant ware excellent in this. He took maximum pains and there team supported them because of this.
Thankyou so much sir!🙂

UDAAN was a rollercoaster of emotions, preparing and executing not to mention it felt very nostalgic remembering the old college days.
But the key difference here was all the team members were leaders (or at least thought so) in themselves and although there was a defined hierarchy, everyone was at the same level.
Obviously, the college working style could not be applied here.
